Our Top 5 Looks for Summer

Summer is here; and with it the many joys associated with warm weather. Summer brings back patio brunches, ice cold mimosas, caesars, abundant greenery, and above all else, a change in the way we dress. The time has come for us to shed all those layers we’ve been wearing for the past few months!

Retailers and runways prepare for the new season through showcasing their newest collections. However, we’re all familiar with fashion labels excluding women who are above the sample size; women with curves have often been the most excluded from this narrative.

It’s absurd to disregard women with a fuller bust or consider them irrelevant in fashion because they are not generously represented in mainstream media. Especially when, according to a 2015 survey conducted by an American lingerie retailer called Intimacy, the average breast size of women in America is 34DD

Although there are many variables such as improved nutrition, girls developing younger than ever before, and the popularity of surgical enhancement that have influenced this statistic, the fact remains the same: there are a lot of fuller bust women who expect to look and feel good in the clothes they’re wearing.

So, if the high fashion runways of Chanel, Dior, Burberry, Balenciaga, Versace, and countless others aren’t offering fashion inspiration for women with breasts larger than a 34B - who is? Thankfully, we’ve got your backs (and fronts!) when it comes to bringing you fashion options for your fuller bust.

We’ve selected 5 of our favourite looks from both our past and present fuller bust collections that you can rock this summer.

1. Minnie Blouse

Named in honour of Miriam’s always-chic grandmother, Minnie is made from cream colored glitter linen. The elastic at the wrists gives a ruffled effect and lets you wear the dramatic Dolman sleeves up or down. Cut at the natural waist, you’ll want to wear your Minnie Blouse with high waisted shorts or pants (unless you like showing off some midriff!).

 2. Collette Gown

Colette is a summer evening gown that’s both striking and practical. Made from stretch cotton, this dress has straps wide enough to cover your bra, ultra flattering princess lines, and handy slash pockets that disappear into style lines. Shop the Collette Gown

3. Adelaide Crop

The Adelaide Crop in gorgeous Kiwi adds the perfect pop of colour to any outfit. High waisted and featuring functional inseam pockets, pair Adelaide with heels for a night out or a clean pair of sneakers for your day to day must dos.

4. Sophora body Suit

Sophora is an elegant, open back bodysuit with a built-in full support bra. An excellent option for fuller bust women to layer under a sheer blouse or lounge around the home. Sophora is now available in Royal Blue!

5. Bridget Dress

Bridget is our first ever shirt dress with the fuller bust fit you know and love. Featuring shoulder to hem princess lines that hug your bust and waist, Bridget A-lines out into the most flattering silhouette. Half length bell sleeves and pockets are the icing on the cake.

Hopefully, this list has provided some inspiration for revamping this year’s summer wardrobe or at least has given you a starting point. We encourage you to embrace and advocate for different styles and fits, proving the point that nobody should be limited to certain garments and styles simply because of their proportions. Fashion is, after all, a method of self-expression.
